Choosing Your Prints
We all have old pictures that are starting to show either ware and tear or just age in general. So, save them before it is too late! Unfornitually time does sometimes ravage our precious pictures, but sometimes the tough part is not getting them restored but knowing which ones should be restored first. So this is a little guide to help you decide which ones to chose, and of course the choice is always yours, as I said it is only a guide.
First you should select the photographs that you might want to get restored (there might be quite a few, and we will try to narrow the selection down a bit in a minute, so don't worry). Then select the most important one-of-a-kind-shots. Then look through these for ones that are fading or turning black these are the ones that you should do first! Ones that are faded or are turning black, either in one place or the entire photo should be done first because they were not processed properly when they were originally made. Or they have come in contact with some sort of chemical that is causing a reaction and destroying the image. At this point the only thing that you can do is get it restored as fast as you can and keep the photo out of light until you can get it fixed. This will slow down the deterioration but it will NOT stop it! Just remember that if you wait too long the image the possibility of full recovery might not be possible.
If you don't have any photographs that are fading or turning dark, then select by importance then finally by cost. The more work that needs to be done, of course the most the job will cost. We bill per hour but if it takes less, we will charge that amount (example, if a job only took 5 minutes then the bill will be for 5 minutes). And if the job only had a small crack through one corner and did not go into a area with allot of detail, then it would probably take 5 minutes. If however the crack went through a detailed area (such a shirt with a fancy design) it will take longer. And facial damage be repaired but sometimes can be quite time consuming. But as every job is different the amount can vary.
I hope this helps you determine what pictures you should get fixed right now and which ones can wait a bit as well as save you time trying to decide. If you have any questions we are only to happy to answer them.
Also you want to see what the finished product will look like, we can send you a small sample via email or regular mail for your inspection and approval.
